Stephanie Hurst, LMFT

Stephanie Hurst is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT.LF.70023781) and the founder of The Motherhood Wellness Clinic, a specialized mental health practice dedicated to supporting women, mothers, couples, and families through every stage of their reproductive and parenting journey. Stephanie's passion for women's mental health is rooted in the belief that when mothers are supported, families thrive, children flourish, and communities become stronger. Through both her clinical work and leadership of The Motherhood Wellness Clinic, she is committed to creating a space where women feel seen, heard, and cared for as they navigate the joys and challenges of womanhood, motherhood, relationships, and personal growth.

As a therapist, Stephanie takes a holistic and relational approach to mental health care. She believes that meaningful healing requires looking beyond symptoms alone to understand the whole person—their story, relationships, physical health, life experiences, and the patterns that have shaped them. She enjoys helping clients develop a deeper understanding of themselves while providing a compassionate, supportive therapeutic relationship where they can safely explore difficult experiences and move toward lasting change. Stephanie recognizes that inner work can be challenging, yet she believes every person possesses the capacity for healing, growth, and transformation when provided with the right support.

Stephanie earned her Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Abilene Christian University and her Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Seattle Pacific University. She has pursued extensive advanced training to support her holistic approach to care, including EMDR Therapy, Medical Family Therapy, Nutritional Psychiatry, Prenatal Nutrition, and Birth Doula training. She is a member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy and Perinatal Support Washington and remains committed to ongoing professional development to ensure her clients receive thoughtful, evidence-based care.

Her clinical work integrates a variety of therapeutic approaches, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), narrative therapy, and attachment-based interventions. Stephanie is particularly passionate about helping clients understand the connections between their experiences, emotions, relationships, and nervous systems. She specializes in supporting women experiencing infertility, pregnancy and postpartum challenges, birth trauma, PMDD, anxiety, depression, grief, relationship difficulties, and other women's mental health concerns. She also has a particular interest in trauma recovery and has witnessed the profound impact that EMDR therapy can have in helping individuals process distressing experiences and move forward with greater freedom and resilience.

Before opening The Motherhood Wellness Clinic, Stephanie gained experience working with families facing some of life's most difficult circumstances, including serving families of terminally ill children in a hospital setting. This work deepened her compassion for families navigating crisis and strengthened her ability to collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care. During graduate school, she volunteered with pregnant and postpartum women experiencing homelessness, an experience that further shaped her understanding of resilience, courage, and the importance of accessible support during vulnerable seasons of life. As a trained birth doula, she also brings a unique understanding of pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum recovery, and the transition to parenthood.

Today, Stephanie's vision extends beyond her individual therapy practice. Through The Motherhood Wellness Clinic, she is building a collaborative and holistic model of care that recognizes the unique needs of women and mothers. Her long-term goal is to create a comprehensive resource where women can access specialized mental health support, education, community, and integrative services that address both emotional and physical well-being. She believes that women deserve healthcare that honors the complexity of their experiences and empowers them to thrive throughout every season of life.

Outside of her professional work, Stephanie is a wife, mother of three daughters, and lifelong learner who values personal and spiritual growth. Living in the Pacific Northwest, she enjoys embracing a slower, more intentional pace of life through time spent with her family, reading, gardening, cooking nourishing meals, and exploring the beauty of the outdoors. Her experiences as a woman, wife, and mother continue to inform her work and deepen her commitment to helping women find healing, connection, and hope.
