Anna Ekblad, LMHCA
Anna believes therapy begins with curiosity. She understands that our lives are shaped by the stories we carry, the relationships we've experienced, and the ways we've learned to navigate the world. Her hope is to offer a space where clients can slow down, feel understood, and begin making sense of their experiences with compassion rather than judgment. Together, Anna works with clients to explore the patterns that have shaped their lives, build insight into their relationships, and develop practical tools that support lasting healing and growth.
As a wife and mother of two, Anna knows firsthand that motherhood is both deeply beautiful and deeply demanding. She is passionate about supporting women through every stage of the journey—from preconception and pregnancy to postpartum, matrescence, and beyond. Whether clients are navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, or simply feeling overwhelmed by the weight of this season, Anna strives to offer a calm, supportive presence where they do not have to carry it alone.
Anna's passion for maternal mental health began long before she became a therapist. In her twenties, she lived in London, where she worked in preschools and with mothers and young children through parent-and-child groups. Sitting with women as they navigated pregnancy, new babies, and the many transitions of early motherhood gave her a deep appreciation for the complexity of this season of life. Those conversations planted the seeds for the work she does today.
After earning her Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from The Seattle School of Theology & Psychology in 2023, Anna opened her own private practice, where she continues to work with adults and mothers seeking a deeper understanding of themselves and their stories. Her clinical training emphasized psychoanalytic and psychodynamic therapy, along with story work and narrative therapy, and her graduate studies focused on trauma, sexual abuse, and work with both individuals and groups.
Anna's experience has also included serving as a Child, Youth, and Family Counselor with a local Tribal community, where she worked alongside children and families navigating complex challenges. During her internship at Compass Health, she had the privilege of walking closely with individuals and families through difficult seasons, an experience that strengthened her belief in the healing power of consistent, compassionate relationships.
Outside of the therapy room, Anna enjoys spending time in nature with her family, reading, enjoying good coffee, and discovering new restaurants.
